1) Asst. co-ordinator for Shala Sangati Project - A School Support Project

Location : - Kalyan , Dist. Thane , Maharashtra

The role of Assistant Co-ordinator is to support government schools in imparting new pedagogical practices and improving children’s foundational skills. Designing, planning sessions, and delivering it to students, regular dialogue with teachers, principals will be important role of the Asst. Co-ordinator.  They will work closely and extensively with government schools, liaise with local municipal authorities as well as primary stakeholders – students, teachers & parents

Position Title: -     Asst. Coordinator, Shala Sangati (School Support ) Project

Reporting To : -     Project Co-ordinator

Working Hours :-  10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

                                Monday to Saturday

Compensation : -  Ranging between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000/- per month

                                Commensurate with Educational Qualifications and Experience

 About SAJAG

SAJAG was set up in 2016, with the vision of bridging the information and opportunity gap that socially and economically marginalised students from the urban poor communities of Kalyan deal with. We address these gaps by providing primary school students with the basic foundational skills of literacy and numeracy such that they can initially access higher education. Our work revolves around learning centres where primary school students attend daily classes to learn basic reading and writing in Marathi, English and Mathematics; as well as a library where students can explore knowledge beyond the classroom and curriculum and school support programme where we support schools in imparting new pedagogical practices. Our method is built around equipping students with communication, social emotional skills, and life lessons to sustain in a busy, crowded, competitive region on the periphery of metropolitan Mumbai. We collaborate with municipal authorities, primary schools, teachers, parents and the communities that inhabit these marginalised geographies for the Shala Saangaati (school support) project.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in education with a minimum of five years’ work experience in a school or a non-government organisation
• A. in Education or Social Work candidates may apply without work experience.
• Proficient – both written and verbal skills, in Marathi, English and Hindi
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills
• Required to teach concepts in Math and Languages – Marathi, English and Hindi, to primary school students.
• Excellent documentation skills to compile data from the project as well as data analysis and periodic reporting.
• Proficient in building a rapport, trust and strong relationships within the communities that we work with
• Conduct routine home visits, monitor regular attendance, and maintain records for unique incidents/ extraordinary circumstances, both in the classroom as well as in the community, while resolving the same too
• Comfortable in making presentations, conducting teaching demonstrations, moderating focussed group discussions.
• Attend, observe, conduct monthly Shikshan Parishad meetings and plan engaging, interactive activities at these for maximum participation from teachers
• Candidates must be proficient in making detailed daily/ weekly/ monthly lesson plans and sessions plans and share the same with the Project Co-ordinator regularly.

2) Part-Time Teacher at Vidyasadan
